VES September Employee of the Month - Mrs. Patty Dryfuse

If you were to look up “customer service” in the dictionary I think you might see a picture of Mrs. Patty Dryfuse, secretary at Vermilion Elementary School.  Her ever present positive attitude, winning smile and caring disposition helps to make everyone’s first impression of Vermilion Elementary School a positive one.  Mrs. Dryfuse shows patience and perseverance at solving everyone’s problems -  a forgotten lunch, a change in transportation, a jam in the copy machine - students, parents and teachers.  She truly goes above and beyond the call of duty to be sure that  everyone has a good experience, every day.  She is the face of Vermilion Elementary School and we are glad that she is!

Mrs. Dryfuse is a graduate of Vermilion High School.  She lives in Vermilion and her three children, Brian, Adam and Katie are all graduates of Vermilion High School and also live in Vermilion.  Mrs. Dryfuse began working as a secretary at Vermilion High School in 1994.  She became the secretary at South Street School in 2006 and has been at VES since 2010.  She is married to Tom who is a former VHS teacher.  She enjoys playing with her two grandchildren, Adleigh and Nolan as often as she can.

When asked about her job, Mrs. Dryfuse says:  “I love coming to work everyday and loving my job!”  “I especially love getting to know the kids and their families and having the students call me Mrs. Drive-Thru”.  We are lucky that she is here everyday and not “driving-thru”.  Mrs. Patty Dryfuse is a true gem and a most important member of our Vermilion Elementary School family.
