RULES FOR SUMMER SCHOOL:
ATTENDANCE: Students may miss only two (2) days of class time. Three tardies equal one day of non-attendance. A double tardy is earned following a 15-35 minute absence. Days missed for non-registration are considered days of non-attendance. Do not register for summer school if you plan to take time off for camps, vacation trips, etc. A year’s school work is concentrated into a few weeks. Regular and punctual attendance is required. Students will be required to complete four (4) lessons per day for their attendance to count.
DISCIPLINE PROBLEMS: There are no discipline problems in summer school. If a student does not follow the school rules and/or the classroom teacher rules, the student is sent to the office and then home for the day, and this day is counted as one day of absence.
Pupils who violate safety rules or code of conduct will be expelled from summer school. Examples of violations which will result in expulsion from summer school include, but are not limited to the following: use or possession of tobacco; possession of and/or lighting and throwing firecrackers; fighting; selling, buying or possession of drugs or alcoholic beverages; disrespect to a staff member; disruption of school. No cellular phones or MP3 players are permitted.
