Sailorway Helps Victims in Haiti

The earthquake in Haiti captured the hearts and minds of the Sailorway Leo Club. Lists of supplies for medical/hygiene packets were handed out to students for donation and the supplies began pouring in. One of our biggest contributors was the local junior Amvets. The students used zip-lock baggies to assemble our items into kits to be shipped to a children’s hospital in Haiti. Grace United Methodist Church is helping take care of the shipping and making sure the items get to the children in need.
The Leo Club would like to thank everyone that donated to this worthy cause.
The class that brought in the most items was Mrs. Duda’s 6th grade homeroom. Her students were allowed to have a “movie period” where they enjoyed popcorn and Kool-Aid as a reward for their efforts.
