8th Grade Mock Trial

The eighth grade Literature and Composition classes had the opportunity to participate in the Lorain County Mock Trial on December 4th. The students prosecuted or defended a fictional character in an actual court of law. They assumed the roles of lawyers, witnesses, jury members and much more.
The students presented their cases to a jury of their peers as well as a Lorain County judge. As the jury deliberated, each judge took the time to compliment the teams on their trial presentations. The judges also encouraged the students to continue with the pursuit of public speaking, studying law and maintaining high academic standards.
