Dr Scott R. Millis - Dr Scott R. Millis graduated as the
valedictorian of the class of 1974 at Vermilion High School. Dr.
Millis is a tenured Professor and the Director of Research in the
Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Wayne State
University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan.
Prior to coming to Wayne State University, Dr. Millis was Director
of the Office of Clinical Trials at Kessler Medical Rehabilitation
Research and Education Corporation. He is also the former Chief of
Neuropsychology at the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan of the
Detroit Medical Center.
Dr. Millis is board certified in three psychological specialties by the American Board of Professional Psychology: Clinical Neuropsychology, Clinical Psychology, and Rehabilitation Psychology. To date, he is one of only two psychologists in the country to have achieved this distinction. Dr. Millis has also been admitted to the status of Chartered Statistician (CStat) by the British Royal Statistical Society. A Chartered Statistician (CStat) is the Society’s highest professional award. It provides formal recognition of an individual’s statistical qualifications and professional training and experience.
Dr Millis has developed an internationally recognized research program in traumatic brain injury and related neurological disorders. He has made important scientific contributions in our understanding of how human memory is affected by traumatic brain injury. As a clinical neuropsychologist, Dr Millis has treated hundreds of people with brain injuries to help them return to productive and rewarding lives. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and has lectured extensively in North America, Europe, and Asia. Dr. Millis will be escorted this evening by Senior Representatives Jacob Raffo and Jackie McKenzie.
