Crashes….crashes don’t always kill.  Sometimes they leave people disfigured, disabled, or paralyzed.  So why take the chance?  Buckle up.  And remember: Law enforcement officers around the country are conducting a seat belt mobilization from May 19th through June 1st, which means that they’re on the lookout for people who aren’t wearing seat belts and are writing more tickets than usual.  So protect yourself and buckle up, day and night.

Attention Students:

Numerous cameras were left at prom.  You may claim your camera in the main office.

Sports

The Girls Purple Softball team lost a heartbreaking game last Thursday that saw them come back three times in the last three innings, but eventually lost in nine innings.  The Sailors defense was led by Maleah Thompson, Rachael Martz, and Brittney Arlla with some fine defensive plays.  Hailey Truxall, Stephanie Sugaski and Angie Lynn led the Sailors offense.

Congratulations to the girl's track team for their third place finish out of nine teams this past weekend at the Vermilion Invitational. A first place finish went to Anne Hamilton in the shot put breaking her old school record for a third meet in a row with a throw of 37 feet 10 inches. Second place finishes went to the 4x800 relay team of Amanda Bowles, Kara Cremean, Ciara Strittmather, and Jessica Nicoll; Lindsay Forconi in the 100m dash & 200m dash; Amanda Bowles in the 1 mile & 2 mile. The Lady Sailor track team will be competing in the conference championship on Wednesday and Friday of this week at Midview High School, please come out to support your track team.

The boys track team finished 2nd out of eight teams in their own invitational.  First place winners were the 4x800 m relay team of Nate Cremean, Addam Kitchen, Todd Hathaway, and Nate Rodriguez.  Cremean in the mile and two mile.  Andy Pena in the long jump, and Jake Figueora in the shot put and discus.  Great jog guys.  Good luck at conference.
